Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Grim Kashmir scenario” (May 12). It is indeed unfortunate that locals in Kashmir obstructed the Army from giving a state burial to lieutenant Ummer Fayaz, while all streets were full when Burhan Wani was being buried. If locals cannot even show empathy towards their own man who was serving the Army then, it is certain that they do not want a positive path for their future inspite of both State and Union Governments asking them to restrain from violence and not be misguided by militants who are basically exploiting them.
