Sir — This refers to the article, “The chocolate-boy face of militancy in Kashmir” (July 15) by Kalyani Shankar. The writer gives no insight as to why the youngsters in Kashmir are alienated. It is not that the Hizbul Mujahideen suddenly caught the imagination of the young in the valley. The alienation is mainly due to corruption. It has nothing to do with the political process.
