Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Fortunes have nose-dived” (December 17). The fact is that most the airlines worldwide do not make much money out of this business. Also, it must be remembered that it is not only the private airlines in India which have mismanaged their businesses. Government-owned Air India has been able to survive only with the help of the public exchequer’s money, else it too would have crumbled many years ago due to mismanagement.
