Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Take proactive steps” (June 26).
It’s not just that the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act must stay, it must also be strengthened to give more power and teeth to the Indian military to take proactive action against the terrorists, both based within and outside the country.
In this deadly war which seeks to fragment and bleed the nation, it is perfectly justified to take strong action against terrorists and other mercenaries, to safeguard the interests of the country and its citizens.
