Sir — Visuals of Mr Narendra Modi bending to touch the feet of Mr lK Advani at the Bhopal rally, which was attended by several lakh people on Wednesday, have been splashed across the media along with comments — some laced with sarcasm and gleeful overtones.

The comments pointedly referred to Mr Advani’s ‘cold’ reception to Mr Modi’s overture. Keeping aside the truth behind such comments, every well-wisher and supporter of the BJP, agog with the anticipation of Mr Modi propelling the election campaign to bring about the exit of the Congress-led UPA Government, is disappointed by the Modi versus Advani talk. Mr Advani can have his reservations, being the mentor and guide of the BJP. But he must not allow the Congress to gain the upper hand.
