Adopt a joint resolution to condemn Pakistan

This refers to the editorial, “The flop Saarc show” (September 29). India's decision to boycott the upcoming South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (Saarc) summit in Islamabad was a tough diplomatic manoeuvre. The Modi Government has launched a full-fledged diplomatic war. The resulting derailment of the summit, owing to the boycott by other member countries, gives credibility to India's long-standing claim about Pakistan's nefarious designs in the internal affairs of its neighbours. It gives a clear message that not just India, but other member countries too are facing the brunt of terrorism.

Pakistan is the only country which inhibits the South Asian region from achieving its true economic and political potential. It's high time for the Saarc member states to adopt a joint resolution condemning the activities of Pakistan. If Pakistan does not mend its ways, then it must be knocked off from the membership status.
