Sir — This refers to the report, “Supreme judicial crisis grips India” (January 13). The judiciary of a nation is the ultimate hope for the people and the country. Therefore, it has a huge responsibility to guide the nation honestly and with distinction. Its judgements should strengthen and make the system function much better than what exists.
For the people, judges are honest people who must raise the trust of the society. In light of this, the four senior judges of the Supreme Court, who took the tough decision to air grievances, must be applauded for taking a bold move.
While this unprecedented move has raised a question mark about the credibility of the judicial system, but the points raised by the judges deserve serious consideration. Judges of the apex court are responsible and if they have complained, it means things have gone out of control.
