Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Grim Kashmir scenario” (May 12). Without any doubt, this surely is an act, planned and executed in close collaboration with the establishment in Islamabad. But why was lieutenant Ummer Fayaz targeted in this dastardly actIJ Because he was an Indian Army officer.
We must rise as a nation, stop all these stereotyped statements and act in retaliation. Our Army, Navy and Air Force have rendered an excellent account of their valour, bravery and spirit. The political and the executive leadership must give the defence forces a free-hand in dealing with the culprits and instilling fear in their minds. The culprits and their associates dare not do that again. The Government, on the other hand, must snap all ties with Pakistan and uphold the integrity and honour of this great and strong country.
