Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Climate vow honoured” (September 27). India’s decision to ratify the Paris agreement on climate change is a step in the right direction. It will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Sixty-one countries accounting for nearly 47.79 per cent of global greenhouse gas emissions, have already ratified the Paris agreement. The Paris deal brings all nations together on a common cause to undertake ambitious efforts to combat climate change, and to adapt to its effects, with enhanced support to developing countries to do so.
