This refers to the report, “Thousands watch as ‘farmer’ kills self” (April 23). A rain-hit farmer, Gajendra Singh Kalyanwat's suicide in the presence of thousands of Aam Aadmi Party leaders and workers, was the death of humanity. It is extremely shocking that the self-claimed champion of the common man and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal preferred to continue his political speech instead of trying to save an aam aadmi from committing suicide right in front of him. This was the same Arvind Kejriwal who had stopped his speech in between after hearing a call for azaan last year. Whether he has changed after winning the Delhi Assembly election, is for the people to see and decide.
AAP senior leader Ashutosh went further and rubbed salt on the wounds of the already pained farmers, by making a sarcastic remark over the suicide. Gajendra Singh Kalyanwat's death should serve an eye-opener for the farmers. Political parties are just using them.
