This refers to the editorial, “Dharma vs Dharna” (June 22). Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his party (Aam Aadmi Party) are known to hold dharnas on one pretext or another. And while they do have the right to do so, the people of Delhi must not suffer for this. During a weeklong protest at the lieutenant Governor’s house, bureaucrats of Delhi held a press conference and categorically stated that they are working as per schedule and that there is no issue as far as lack of cooperation with the Delhi Government is concerned.
So now when the Delhi Chief Minister and his colleagues have finally ended the sit-in, they need to make sure that they fulfill the promises they made to the people of Delhi and not find excuses to hold more protests. I completely agree with the view of the editorial and the fact that Aam Aadmi Party leaders need to build more credibility in governance and repose faith in the people of Delhi. Such tactics can only take Aam Aadmi Party so far and if they believe that it will help them getting re-elected in the upcoming General Election, they are living in a fool's paradise. The Delhi Government needs to get rid of its negative mindset. It is high time that they realise this and fulfill the tall promises they made to the voters.
