This refers to the report, “AAP's Gordian Knot” (February 16). The report clearly underscores the contradiction in the thinking of Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal and its ideologue Yogendra Yadav. The latter was quoted as saying that “in the next three to five years, we want to become viable in more States than Delhi and Punjab”. However, Chief Minister Kejriwal, minutes after his swearing-in, cautioned his party colleagues against talking about fighting elections in “five and 10 States”, as it reflected “a little arrogance”. He said that his party would, for the next five years, “concentrate solely on Delhi”. It is obvious that there is no clarity on the roadmap ahead.
Meanwhile, Delhi's new Health Minister has added to the confusion with an unconnected but disturbing remark: “Trained AAP volunteers would be deployed in hospitals to monitor their functioning.” In what capacity and with whose permission will they do thisIJ It would be better if Delhi’s new Ministers don’t get carried away by the sentiment of doing things in a ‘different way’.
