AAP gameplan

Published on:
Sir — Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal’s claim that no Government at the Centre is possible without the AAP’s support shows that his real agenda is to get power by any means, and not a corruption-free India. He has also started playing the secular card by saying that communalism is a bigger issue than corruption.
Assuming that the AAP gets 100 seats, as the party loftily but ridiculously claims, who will be the remaining 172 MPs needed to form the GovernmentIJ Surely the AAP and the BJP are not going to support each other. Will the AAP take the support of supposedly corrupt Mulayam Singh Yadav, Mayawati, lalu Prasad etcIJ
Will it then be the Congress with whose support the AAP will form the Government, as it did in DelhiIJ The AAP strategy so far shows that it is only trying to stop the BJP from forming a Government, as others are far behind in the race. So the party is only becoming one more entity among other smaller or regional parties that are trying to get substantial bargaining power in the formation of a Government. We have seen such manoeuvrings before when the left and some regional parties jostled to gain importance immediately before and after a  general election.
