Aam Aadmi Party doesn't care about governance

Published on:

It is indeed an unusual case where the Chief Minister has to sit in protest demanding something as minor as taking action against police officials who fail to perform their duty. Nevertheless, this is exactly what Mr Arvind Kejriwal has done. In keeping with his image as a common man's Chief Minister, he is justified in pursuing a matter which he feels has affected the people. But do we need to have direct confrontational action so oftenIJ

It is becoming increasingly difficult to understand how the Aam Aadmi Party plans to govern Delhi. Its members are reluctant to get down to the business of governing. Activism cannot substitute governance. Mr Kejriwal and company are doing everything but exercising sovereign authority in Delhi. Clearing official files from his sit-in site of the protest and issuing statements to the effect that the functioning of the Government will not be affected, either exposes Mr Kejriwal's political immaturity or else he is plain arrogant.
