In standing up against a corrupt political set-up, IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal has become a ray of hope for the common man. The IAS lobby and all other civil servants should solidly stand behind her at a time when she can be a torchbearer for other upright and honest civil servants.
A few bureaucrats are also to blame for the present sordid state of affairs. Some of them stoop so low as to touch the politicians’ feet, some of whom are no paragons of virtue. This brings trouble for others, whose conscience does not allow such surrender. The BJP ought to have taken the issue up more vigorously and consistently. You are right that the Uttar Pradesh administration has only twisted the facts to protect the nexus between politicians and the mafia.
