Sir — The Union Government has introduced several vocational courses in the school curriculum lately. Unfortunately, most of these courses are merely duplicating available skill sets, like plumbing and auto-mechanics, which students do not find attractive.
On the other hand, training in modern farming and food processing, which would immediately benefit millions of pupils coming from agricultural backgrounds, have been left out of this curriculum reset.
It is hoped that the Ministry of Human Resource Development will urgently take note of this lapse and rectify it to help fight rural distress too.
