Sir — This refers to the article, “Seas of trouble: We need to act now” (June 9) by Hiranmay Karlekar. The ban on plastic though belated is welcome. If the Government chooses to be elastic in implementation of the ban on plastic, it will remain on paper only.
Propaganda against use of plastic should start right from primary schools. Believing and trusting that the ban will be stringent and without any loopholes, let us take steps to rid our surroundings of existing plastic wastes.
