Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Hubris is the opponent” (April 11). There is no safety for our girls/women under the democratic Government in our country. So many cases of rapes are reported everyday and the culprits are freed after their arrests because our politicians have failed to introduce stringiest laws to handle and punish the rapists. leaders might be afraid of introducing stringiest law of ‘death sentence to the rapist’ because most of the rapes are committed by their near and dear ones who take advantage of their position/power.
