Sir — It is welcome that giving up all ego, Prime Minister Modi has urged Opposition leaders in Tripura to guide the ‘inexperienced’ Biplap Kumar Deb in running the Government. It is laudable that Modi made this statement while former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar flanked by senior BJP leaders like lK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi were on the dais. It is great that deviating from his usual way of celebrating electoral victories, the Prime Minister has sought cooperation of the Opposition for a smooth functioning of his Government in Tripura which sounds genuine.
One only wishes that this healthy trend set by the Prime Minister will percolate down the line among all the leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party, particularly in States ruled by the saffron party.
