Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Colonel’s complaint” (February 10). It is clear from the events that the unit was subjected to a murderous attack by the stone pelters, therefore, firing in self-defence was the only option. The apex court should not only quash the FIR against the Major, but also order an FIR against the stone-pelters, whose leaders must be arrested.
