Sir — This refers to the article, “When there’s no accountability” (December 11) by JS Rajput. It is not necessary that the administrative head of a university must be an eminent scholar himself/herself. He/she should appreciate the need to do great research and teaching and must have the ability to assemble committees of good scholars who can make judgement and have good political and administrative skills, so that he/she can find the resources and use them wisely to bring out the best among the faculty and students.
