Sir — This refers to the Editorial, “Gujarat goes to polls” (October 27). Polling dates for the Gujrat Assembly election announced by the Election Commission on Wednesday caught everybody’s attention. Not only is the BJP burning the candle at both ends though other parties are also falling over themselves to indulge in vote-bank politics. GST and demonetisation will ensure it will not be easy for the BJP to win big in Gujarat just because it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home state and has been a BJP bastion.
