Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Murder by any standard” (August 14). Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s assertion that deaths of children happened not because of shortage of oxygen is unpardonable. Nevertheless, there has been hue and cry from the Opposition that the Chief Minister and the Health Minister should resign owing responsibility for this tragedy. However, we cannot expect such courtesy from them when innocent people are lynched and massacred mercilessly on suspicion of transporting cattle for slaughter. We cannot expect such decencies from people who give more priority to keep ambulances ready for cows than oxygen cylinders for humans.
