Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Presidential qualities” (July 21). The selection of Ram Nath Kovind as our next President is a spectacular victory of the BJP. He won by an overwhelming majority by the votes of the representatives in Parliament and State Assemblies. Till a few years ago, the BJP was trailing behind national parties like the Congress. Today, it has left the Congress and other parties miles behind and has come to occupy the seat of power at the Centre and majority of the States.
The BJP-led Government’s performance has been outstanding. The need of hour is that people should support its policies and programmes whose sole objective is to unite the country and make it strong on all fronts. If India thrives, we all do well. So, let’s all unite for the cause.
