The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’s (AIADMK) Members of the legislative Assembly (MlA) “pay-off” issue brought out by a television sting operation, has rocked the Tamil Nadu Assembly for two consecutive days throwing the moral authority of the party in tatters.

The MlAs amass as much wealth as possible before their term ends. It is now obvious that the AIADMK MlAs seized the floor test necessitated by J Jayalalithaa’s death and Edappadi K Palaniswami’s appointment as Chief Minister in the place of O Panneerselvam as an opportunity for horse-trading and bargaining for the votes that would decide the Government’s fate.
