Sir — Prime Minister Narendra Modi must be complimented for his forth right assertion during his address at the annual Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Astana that sovereignty and territorial integrity should be the key factor for any cooperation. National interest should take precedence over trans-national affinities and all diplomatic pretense must be shunned in such fora.
The Prime Minister’s call for defeating terrorism and radcalisation in the presence of Pakistan’s Prime Minister would not not have gone unnoticed. It is a known that several terror groups have their origins in Pakistan and even China has not been spared by terrorist actions.
