Bridging gaps

Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Pruning the VIP culture” (April 21). The decision of removing red beacons from the VIPs cars is a right step towards bridging the gap between the elite and the common man. Besides, the Government must also take decision of not holding traffic because of VIP movement as that creates huge problem, especially in the capital city.

Though it will take some time for some of these powerful politicians and civil servants to get used to of their lives without the most powerful blue or red light in their lives, but they better get used to it.  I agree with the editorial that even common people took advantage of the beacons and got fake ones to put it on their cars for the smooth traffic movement. Now all of this will be a thing of the past.
