Sir — This refers to the report, “lovely catch by BJP as Cong desertion goes on” (April 19). While the BJP has welcomed into its fold Delhi Congress president and former Minister, Arvinder Singh lovely, the Congress has expressed effusive rue over the desertion of a senior leader like him. But this development leaves us with two clear thoughts.
Whenever a party faces continues failures and setbacks, those who lack loyalty and steadfast faith in ideology, will leave it and join the opponents. This is a political game for selfish gains. But the new host and the general public often fail to realise the opportunism.
No party can surmount or withstand the harrowing phase of trials and failures, unless it has a capable and matured leader. Though this is the main problem haunting the Congress, it neither changes the leadership nor recognises the drawback.
