Sir — This refers to the article, “Radicalisation, isolation of Muslim youth” (March 13) by Balbir Punj. The writer has warned of radical Islamists’ attempts to forge potentially destructive attitude of isolation and separatism in Indian Muslim youth. Mullahs and madarssas are over-ground source of this alarming trend. Several young men have been detained in recent weeks for self-radicalisation through Islamic State propaganda on the social media or by its secret modules in some towns, to engineer anti-Indian terror acts.
Another disturbing aspect is the minority community’s declared hostility to the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi as so-called symbols of Hindu antipathy towards Muslims. They don’t seem to realise that their emotional aversion to the majority community is hurting them deeply. It is time to review this suicidal course. One notices that on its part, the ruling party is engaged in appointing Muslim members to crucial positions as spokespersons, and so on.
