Sir — This refers to the article, “A decent Budget, but niggling issues remain” (February 7) by Sandhya Jain. More needs to be spent on education and health sectors to improve our agonising score in Human Development Index (our rank is 130th), to become a real welfare state and a developed country. No country can ever become developed if it ignores these two areas. India should focus on improving the lives of its citizens instead of finding out life in Mars!
