Sir — The apex court’s decision to insist on the playing of the National Anthem in cinema halls before the screening of the movie, is welcome. I remember, as a little boy, I would go along with my parents to watch a movie in a theatre, and we would all stand up and salute the national flag when the national anthem was played on screen. Today’s generations have no respect for the national flag, National Anthem and song. Even when the National Anthem is played on radio or in public gatherings, they don’t salute the flag or sing along the lines of the song.
