Sir — The demise of Carnatic music doyen M Balamuralikrishna is a huge loss to the music world. He will be remembered for his mellifluous renditions and his composition of various thillanas, kritis and varnams and creation of newer ones like lavangi, mahathi, manorama, murali, omkari, prathimadyamavathi and siddhi. Needless to stress, music lovers and all those in whose ears the soul catchy voice of Balamurali regularly reverberates, have become musical orphans with his demise.
