Sir — This refers to the report, “Parliament stuck on demonetisation” (November 22). The disruption of Parliament has become a routine affair for the Opposition. In the Rajya Sabha, it created a ruckus, demanding that the House should adopt a resolution, mourning the deaths allegedly caused by hardships after demonetisation.
Did Parliament ever adopt such a resolution on farmers’ suicides during the Congress GovernmentsIJ The cost of running Parliament is around seven crore rupees per day. Crores of rupees of taxpayers’ money is drained by the Opposition for petty politics.
Instead of adjourning the disordered Houses repeatedly, the presiding officers of both the Houses, at the very first disruption, should adjourn the House indefinitely and let the Opposition come with an undertaking that it would not disrupt the House again.
