Sir — The young and the elderly across the country are seen in long queues outside the banks. The media’s focus is on the aged, who are shown sitting on their haunches or squatting, tired of the long wait. Yes, they are suffering for no fault of theirs.
It is unfortunate that politicians are making a big deal out of this. Ironically, these are the same people — old and young — who stand in queues for long on poll days, awaiting their turn to cast their vote. After votes are cast, they are hailed for exercising their right to vote.
Politicians will never say that the old and ailing should stay at home and not cast their vote. Dear politicians, let people stand in queues and contribute towards the building of a strong and honest India.
