This refers to the article, “Relevance of China policy today” (November 11) by Avdhesh Agnihotri. The author has rightly analysed the true character of Sardar Patel who succeeded in uniting the States to keep India free and united without bloodshed.
Patel had warned Jawaharlal Nehru about the duplicity of China but Nehru, an emotional man, infatuated with the communist ideology, did not pay heed to Patel’s warnings and had to face the fatal in 1962 from his ideological myopia about China which is still stiff against India. The Middle Kingdom is supporting a terrorist state like Pakistan. However, Patel’s contributions have been aptly enshrined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s building of a 182-metre statue to immortalise his legacy.
