Sir — While Muslim women at large are against the draconian sharia’h laws of triple-talaq and have been opposing it since long, secular bigwigs have been opposing any attempt by the ruling Government to bring a common civil code.
The BJP Government has done a commendable job by taking a firm stand on this issue. The fundamental approach of the mullahs can be fought and defeated easily if the self-declared progressive liberal forces, in the name of secularism, do not interfere to bring reforms in the Muslim society. The Supreme Court has taken a tough stand on this issue and must deliver on it.
