Internal matter

Published on:

This refers to the editorial, “Calling Pakistan’s bluff” (October 1). Pakistan may have differences when it comes to handling Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, but not about India or its claim on Kashmir. The civil society and the political leaders in Islamabad are under the yoke of the Army and the Inter-Services Intelligence.

It is the state within the state that has to be tackled. An olive branch in response to each terror attack is viewed as a sign of weakness, not statesmanship. This is what has been finally checked, if not reversed, by the ‘surgical strikes’ carried by India in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to destroy terror camps.
