Sir — Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu’s is right that the statement on Congress leaders on Kashmir shows not only how party is badly divided over the issue but also guided by political opportunism. Congress is known for its hypocrisy and double games. Its leaders often speak in different voices to deliberately confuse the issue. When they are caught, their resort to the ‘personal views’ excuse.
The Congress does not have the guts to face criticism and tries to deflect the issue. In Kashmir, it is the main culprit, and its one-time ally, the National Conference, has always treated Jammu & Kashmir as its fiefdom. Neither will the Congress govern properly nor will it let others do the job well. They will allow terrorism to continue if it suits their interests.
