This refers to the Brain Stormer, “Home Minister reveals facts on Dalit attack” (August 13). It’s eye-opening for everyone to see the atrocities on Dalits in India. They are a grim reminder that the caste barriers that divide people need to be demolished in order to have an egalitarian society. Despite two major laws to deal with crimes against Dalits, the violence against the community is disturbing.
