This refers to the brain stormer, “Pawar without power” (July 28). Verily speaking, three politicians — Najma Heptullah, GM Siddeshwara and Sharad Pawar — stepped down from their posts because of the recommendations of the lodha panel report which put a 70-year age cap on politicians as well as cricket administrators in the country.
These politicians, unlike their counterparts, did not resist to comply with the panel’s recommendations. They showed profound reverence for the apex court’s judgement. Thus, their willingness to quit needs some appreciatory comments so that others may follow the suit and leave ground for the young ones in their community.
