Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Congress’s last hope” (July 16). In 2014, senior Congress leader P Chidambaram had rightly said that someday a non-Nehru-Gandhi family member can be the president of the party. Under the present leadership of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, the party’s chances of revival are almost zero. Former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has rightly been projected as the chief ministerial candidate for Uttar Pradesh. The Congress must look beyond the Nehru-Gandhi family.
