Fighting terrorism

Sir — This refers to the editorial, “New face of the Taliban” (June24). It is an irreversible fact that peace and stability in Afghanistan cannot be a possible until the Taliban and the Haqqani Network are neutralised or eliminated.

The international community, including the US, is well aware of these deadly terrorist outfits. It is also true that Pakistan is extending all sorts of help, including protection to these extremist organisations. India has often communicated this vital truth to the UN and other related countries that unless the involvement of Pakistan is neutralised, peace and stability in this beleaguered state is unthinkable.
