The onset of monsoon in India has brought cheers to the people, particularly the farming community. However, in the past, a deluge of heavy rain has caused flash flooding in some parts of the country. Droughts and excessive rainfalls have made life miserable.
Despite devastating droughts and rainfall, action has not been taken to store water from excessive rainfall. The Government should initiate action to conserve water to meet water needs during drought periods.
