This refers to the article, “Asserting the new order, demolishing the old” (May 26) by Gautam Mukherjee. Despite successive defeats in Assembly elections after its electoral debacle in 2014, no introspection has been done by Congress leaders to revive their party. First, the Congress should function as a responsible Opposition in the House. Second, the party must stop banking only on the charisma of the Nehru-Gandhi family.
Moreover, the party has so far failed to reach out to the poor and the down-trodden. The Congress has a lot of homework to do. Blaming the BJP will not help.
