Sir — This refers to the report, “Bribe video a sting in TMC top leaders’ tail” (March 15). Unambiguously, corruption has become an integral part of Indian politics ever since independence. Political parties are primarily concerned with unassailable hegemony across the country rather than the genuine interest of the nation and the people.
It is an open secret that a substantial number of our MPs/MlAs are tangibly tainted on account of corruption/criminal charges, and yet they are the lawmakers of this country. Illiteracy, lack of proper education, poverty etc are the major causes for this pathetic state of democracy.
