Devious agenda

Published on:

This refers to the article,  “The hidden agenda in overt sloganeering” (February 23) by Sandhya Jain. Eminent Sanskrit scholar Sheldon Pollock must understand that outside select grooves of academia, few Indians have heard of him.

Rajiv Malhotra in his book, The Battle for Sanskrit: Is Sanskrit Political or Sacred, Oppressive or liberating, Dead or AliveIJ has taken on Mr Pollock and has exposed his devious doings in the name of Sanskrit. The reader is also made aware of the fact that this Sanskrit scholar had earlier signed four petitions against Mr Narendra Modi when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Indian students must wake up.
