This refers to the editorial, “Pakistan nailed again” (February 9). David Headley has sung like a canary. What is damning is his disclosure about the role played by three Inter-Services Intelligence officers who collaborated with lashkar-e-Tayyeba in the Mumbai terror attack. Headley’s revelations are not new, but at this juncture, his confessions will help dent Pakistan’s diplomacy and exert pressure on Islamabad to extradite Hafiz Saeed.
Headley’s testimony will sow fresh doubts about Islamabad’s willingness to address New Delhi’s concerns, given the Pakistan regime’s culpability in generating terror. What is disturbing is that the Nawaz Sharif Government is unable to rein in Saeed’s anti-India rhetoric, let alone prosecute him for crimes.
