Sir — This refers to the news report, “Manish Tewari in soup for sticking to his coup guns” (January 11). It must be kept in mind that, at that point of time, Congress leader Manish Tewari was a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence. Therefore, his statement must not be brushed aside like it has been done by the Congress and the BJP.
Mr Tewari’s allegations call for a proper inquiry. In case the reports are baseless, stringent action should be taken against him. And if there is even an iota of truth in Mr Tewari’s story, strict action needs to be taken against those in the Army, including former Army chief General VK Singh, who was responsible for the alleged misconduct.
