This refers to the article, “Manufactured protest, and selective silence” (November 24) by A Surya Prakash. It is surprising that, when author Taslima Nasreen was hounded out of West Bengal, there were no protests about intolerance. Nobody talked of intolerance when minority Hindus were ethnically cleansed from Muslim-dominated areas of Assam and West Bengal. Similarly, there were also no protest when professor TJ Joseph’s hand was chopped off in Kerala by Islamic hardliners.
Democratic minded-journalists should create a list of such incidents and start a nation-wide protest against the Fascist communal brigade, who call themselves ‘secular’.
