Sir — Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the UK was the most challenging sojourn ever since he took oath as the Prime Minister. His visit had many interesting footnotes, including the prickly questions asked by the British media at a joint Press conference. Never mind the critics, Mr Modi has worked hard to raise India’s profile in the world.
Admittedly, there is an element of envy at the great felicity with which he has turned into India’s best known salesman. Playing such a successful diplomatic role, both as a guest and as a host to foreign heads of Government and state, evokes admiration. That said, Mr Modi must now pay attention to reforming India’s economy, before the international community starts obliging him.
